What’s the purpose of Dash?
User Needs/Painpoints
I conducted User Interviews with open-ended questions to dive deeply into my interviewees' behaviour, preparedness and how they deal
with a financial emergency
"How might we provide valuable resources and tools to Canadian working professionals living paycheck to paycheck, allowing them to access emergency funds?”
Who are the ones that need Dash most
Keeping my key insights in mind this persona reflects my users’ pain points, frustrations & goals.
Amanda is 29 and she wants to be ready for any financial
emergencies and build her financial independence.
Pain Points:
- A personal loan seems like a liability.
- Wouldn’t take personal loans for a small amount.
- Paycheck-to-paycheck living makes it harder to be prepared for financial emergencies.
Goals:
- Avoid methods that have a complex structure of
multiple steps
- Will take a personal loan if she has an understanding of her repayment capabilities
User journey Amanda will take based on my selected user story
“As a millennial living paycheck to paycheck, I want to have a convenient way to pay for any sudden expenses so that I do not have to borrow money from anyone”
Exploring ideas and features through sketches & iterations
After solidifying my task flow I wanted to do some Exploratory sketches of the wireframes. After multiple iterations, I was able to finalize my solution sketches.
Getting the sketches ready for the real world!
I started making lo-fi digital wireframes from my sketches. This prototype includes the layout of screens, the placement of interactive elements, and the overall navigation structure. It will ensure that every user interaction is intuitive and efficient, making the app a pleasure to use.
User Testing
Going back to the users
I did 2 rounds of User testing overall including 10 participants
This helped me ensure that the most critical and impactful features are addressed early, providing the maximum benefit to users and aligning with project goals.
I asked users to complete a number of tasks and then documented the summary of each task analysis and each user's feedback.
Each user completed all the tasks successfully, however, there was some overall feedback about some cosmetic changes.

Finalizing the wireframe & the flow
After doing 2 rounds of user testing, and applying the overall feedback and takeaways simultaneously from the testing, my final wireframes are now ready to be deployed
into a hi-fi version and injecting colours. The process of user testing was constructive and crucial in making my app and taught me to put users first and empathize with them

Inclusivity & Accessibility
After choosing my colours I wanted to make sure that they met the accessibility standards and were WCAG-compliant
By incorporating these considerations into the colour scheme, I aimed to create an inclusive user experience that caters to a diverse audience, aligning with ethical design principles and making the app more user-friendly for all.
Deliver
Launching Dash as a business
I wanted to create a marketing website to promote my product.
The marketing website outlines my product features and offers various subscription options that help Dash as a business to grow and in return provide elevated services to its users
Deliver
Future Thinking & Impact
Utilizing a "tarot card of tech", I sought insights into the potential future impact of my product and preemptively addressed potential queries that might arise down the road.
This foresight aimed to provide comprehensive answers to emerging questions about the product's evolution and its relevance over time.

Dash provides a platform to easily manage your finances, and build a path towards financial stability. it serves to bridge the gaps in financial accessibility and empowerment.

I think the instant access to funds with the lowest interest rates can make the audience steer away from a traditional loan system, & cash app services. Users can still be Debt free while still freely able to get personal loans
